Bronwyn Burrows is co-owner and director of Franz Josef Wilderness Tours, a family-run adventure company based on New Zealand’s West Coast. Originally from Canada, she’s spent years kayaking across some of the world’s most stunning waterways, including multi-week trips around Vancouver Island, and has guided tours in Canada and Stewart Island, New Zealand.
Since taking over Glacier Country Kayaks in 2013, Bronwyn has grown Franz Josef Wilderness Tours into one of the region’s most respected adventure operators. She oversees the team, develops new experiences, and ensures every tour delivers safe, memorable, and fun encounters with Westland Tai Poutini National Park.

Passionate about sustainable tourism and sharing the beauty of Franz Josef Glacier, Bronwyn writes blogs to inspire visitors, showcase the region’s unique wildlife and landscapes, and provide practical tips for exploring the area safely. Her goal is to help people connect with nature, whether they’re paddling on Lake Mapourika, cruising its tranquil waters, or venturing off-road into the rainforest.
