Enjoy a Scenic cruise across Lake Mapourika to the Okarito Kiwi Sanctuary on the far side. Once across you will gear up before climbing onto your SUP and dipping your paddle in the calm and glassy lake water.

You will receive excellent paddling instruction which is suited to your SUP-ing ability and previous experience (if any).

Once you have the technique mastered, you will follow your guide up Echo Bay and into The Creek. You will paddle among the giant Kahikatea  and Rimu forest into the heart of the Okarito Kiwi Sanctuary.

There’s a lot going on to protect the Rowi Kiwi within the Kiwi Sanctuary.  Listen as your guide explains what is going on and how you too could help!

Our Stand-up Paddle Boards are incredibly stable, so if you are worried about getting wet there’s no need!   It is very rare that anybody actually falls in!

During the summer, the Lake temperature will often hit 22+ degrees Celsius.  There are also always hot drinks waiting for you on-board the Hanna-k!

This is the perfect activity for beginners and experienced paddlers alike, as the Lake is often calm and sheltered.
