  • Bike the Gibb’s trail

Only a short distance from our booking office in Franz Josef is the scenic ride through the rainforest of the Gibb’s track.  A well maintained trail takes you from Cron street and out to the Highway.  It’s a scenic way to start the bike journey out of town to the North.

  • Bike to Canavans Knob

Head out over the Waiho bridge and ride on a stock bank beside the Waiho River.  The Waiho river flows out from the Franz Josef Glacier.  It’s a unique river in New Zealand and it carves out much of the landscape around us in Franz Josef.  Lock up your bike, and head up a short hill climb to the top of Canavan’s knob lookout.
