All this drizzly weather’s been great for fishing! We’ve been landing lots of Brown Trout and salmon, even sending a few happy customers home with fish for tea!
Here’s a trout from last week, caught by Ted on his 70th birthday. A fishing trip in New Zealand was on his bucket list! He did not just catch a good Trout but a wee Salmon as well. We were so happy to send Ted home with a contagious smile on his face!
This nice Brown was caught by a couple on their honeymoon. They came out kayaking, then fishing one day and came fishing again the following day when their Helicopter Flights were cancelled! Hopefully they enjoyed their romantic Trout dinner.
Here’s a happy first time fisherman, with his first fish! Nice one!
This small Salmon was released just after this photo to grow to a bigger size. Lake Mapourika is stocked annually with salmon, but we’re anxiously awaiting the big sea run salmon to swim into the Lake!
If you catch a fish that meets the size of the fishing regulations you can keep it, take it home and have an awesome fresh fish for dinner!
