New Years day we were blessed with a hot sunny day, and stunning mirror lake conditions!
We took out a family from Australia and a Photographer from Christchurch! Have a look at the snaps Dale managed to take with our company camera (not quite as flash as some on board!)
The kids had a blast, look at that view out the window! And they were even able to have a go at being the Captain …

“On a day that might have gone unnoticed, because it was New Year’s Eve 2016, I luckily by chance pulled into the lay-by at Lake Mapourika. The Hanna-K was moored at the jetty and Dale the operator of Franz Josef Tours was on deck. A invitation for me to join the next day’s9.00am cruise was accepted due to the expectant clear sunny day. The cruise turned out to be the most breathtaking two hours I had ever encountered. Lake Mapourika has a tendency to deliver very calm peaceful waters providing an amazingly clean and clear reflection of the Southern Alps. As a photographer it was pure delight for me. The hospitality and friendliness provided on board the Hanna-K was supreme and every bit of the voyage was pleasurable. I can only say don’t miss this experience where ever you might be travelling, it beats all else for pristine panoramas of our beautiful country. Clive Collins, Christchurch”.
