Next week we’re launching 2 new exciting Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) products!  This is starting up on the 1st of November along with the start of our popular Sunset Kayak tours.  Summer is on it’s way and we’re stoked!

Our favorite new product is called Boat & SUP the Kiwi Sanctuary.  This is the most exciting half day you can possibly spend on Lake Mapourika.  Here’s a look at what your day might look like if you book this tour with us:

Meet at the Glacier Country Kayak’s booking office on Cron St. (centrally located across from the Franz Josef Glacier Guides).  Here you’ll meet one of our friendly reservations crew to check you in, and also meet your SUP guide.  Help yourself to our sunscreen and hop into the van out to the stunning Lake Mapourika. 

Once you arrive at the Lake you’ll meet Dale, the skipper of the Hanna-k which is the comfy tour boat that you’ll take across the Lake to your Stand Up Paddleboard desitination – the Okarito Kiwi Sanctuary.

The Okarito Kiwi Sanctuary is a kiwi conservation region on the far shoreline of Lake Mapourika.  Here we typically find extremely calm water, and also our favourite spot on the Lake known to our team as: ‘The Creek’.

The Creek winds it’s way into the heart of the rainforest and kiwi sanctuary.  After having a bit of practice on your SUP you’ll follow your guide into the Creek for an epic SUP adventure!  Enjoy pristine flax and kahikatea reflections, curious native birds and a great way to put your stand up paddleboard skills to the test!
